Value recovery
for schools.

At schools, usable material often ends up in the general waste, and sorting and disposing of it takes time that teachers and caretakers would rather spend elsewhere. We are researching how this could work better. The idea: a dashboard that shows which materials are produced and what happens to them, and a service that takes care of collection, reuse, and recycling, so the school does not have to worry about it.

The dashboard and the service are not available yet. We are first researching, together with schools, whether and how this works.

Collection and reporting handled automatically

How it could work.

  1. 01

    Inventory

Map which waste streams exist and how much is produced.

  2. 02

    Insight

Show what can happen to each material: reuse, recycling, or processing.

  3. 03

    Collect & process

Take care of collection and processing, so the school does not have to worry about it.

  4. 04

    Report

Automatically track how much has been reused and recycled, without extra admin.

Which materials qualify and what happens to any proceeds is part of the research.

MIEC data impact

On behalf of Summa College, for the municipality of Oss

On behalf of Summa College, together with a team of teachers, students, and data analysts, we helped the municipality of Oss transition to a circular economy. We analysed data on resource use and waste streams within the municipality and developed recommendations to improve resource efficiency and reduce waste. Working closely with municipal stakeholders, we implemented data-driven solutions and tracked progress towards a more sustainable, circular economy.

  • Data analysis

Mapped resource use and waste streams within the municipality.

  • Recommendations

Concrete proposals for more efficient resource use and less waste.

  • Implementation

Implemented data-driven solutions with the municipality and tracked progress.
